So I received a message stating that my iOS system had crashed and to call a 1 855 to immediately fix the problem. I called the number and got a man with an unusual accent. He asked me for my IMEI number and I gave it to him. He was able to tell me the type of phone I had, the carrier and how long the system was “supposedly” crashed. I gave him my IMEI number and my email; nothing else. He told me that any other devises around me had to be shut off completely including my work computer which I found weird. I did as I was told and he then told me that to proceed with the process it would cost me $103.00!! I then said “no way!!” resulted to Google to help me figure out the issue and found a super easy FREE way to fix it! Just was wondering if giving him my IMEI number put me at risk to anything else with these scammers?? I hope this issue is resolved quickly…innocent people are being robbed.
